Hey Balltimers,
In 2022, we founded Balltime with a simple mission: to bring cutting-edge, AI-powered technology to volleyball players and teams worldwide. What started as a Facebook post about creating easy highlight videos has grown into a platform used by over 12,000+ volleyball teams worldwide, and our commitment to our community and product remains the same. Looking back on our journey so far, we have so much to be thankful for:
And yet, we still feel that there is so much more value that we can deliver. You need simple ways to record, upload, and stream video, more opportunities to share it with your athletes, and tools that help athletes get recruited. You need tools to help you manage your team, communicate with them, and a long-term commitment to powering your club, your team, and your athletes.
That’s why we’re super excited to share the next big step in our journey: we are joining the Hudl team!
By teaming up with Hudl, our goal is to continue to build the best product for volleyball, from youth to pro. Hudl has built some of the most widely used tools in sports technology, serving 27,000 volleyball organizations and over 400,000 volleyball users. But what excites us most is what this partnership means for the future: a unified volleyball platform, combining the best of Hudl, Volleymetrics, and Balltime into a single, powerful solution.
This isn't just a coming together of two companies—it's a commitment. A commitment to innovation in volleyball. A commitment to delivering the best technology to players, coaches, and teams. A commitment to ensuring that the sport continues to evolve with the best tools possible.
Hudl’s team, too, is full of volleyball experts — former college athletes, current coaches and club directors, and so many others passionate about the sport. Our shared vision of impacting the sport through technology gets us excited for the future. For you and for the sport of volleyball, we truly believe that Balltime and Hudl together can better serve you and our sport.
We said it in our year-in-review letter, “2025 promises to be even bigger, bolder, and better, and we can’t wait to continue this journey together.” We’re honored, humbled, and grateful that you’ve been on this journey with us. From individual athletes to teams at every level across both beach and indoor in 40 countries – you’ve embraced the product and used it to train, grow, and play at the next level.
But it wasn’t just about using it, it was about building it with us. You’ve used your voices to help build our roadmap for the future—pushing our team to create exciting tools like ball trajectories, 3D visualization, and biomechanical passing data. The impact has been powerful, with 125,000 users uploading 300,000 videos and 600,000 hours spent on Balltime in the last year alone. We’re excited and ready to take this next big step with you.
As our teams begin to integrate, there’s a lot of excitement about what’s to come. I encourage you to check out the letter from Tarryn Moss, Hudl’s Market Director to get a glimpse at what the future holds. We will be joining Hudl’s team, and we’ll bring Balltime’s fast-moving, AI-driven approach into Hudl, ensuring that the next generation of volleyball technology is built with the same speed, passion, and user-driven development that got us here.
You can continue using Balltime today just as you have been. We’ll be hard at work creating a unified volleyball platform to ensure we can scale to meet your expectations while putting even more tools in your hands. From there, we’ll continue to release innovative features that supercharge your team’s growth and development. We can’t share all the details yet, but you can get answers to your questions and follow the progress over on Hudl.
Looking forward to what the future holds, yours truly.
